A film about surf heritage, craft, and place.
The shaper is the conduit between surfer and wave. Part artist, part backyard scientist, the surfboard shaper takes raw material and makes fine instruments. Their boards are finely tuned and often experimental, helping others get their groove on. From a material and design evolution, these shapers tell the history of surfing in Santa Barbara and influenced the sport at large.
